The Texas Regional Bank branch under construction in Rio Grande City, is marking an exciting new phase of banking for the area. Many people, including important local figures, attended the groundbreaking ceremony at 4389 E. US Highway 83 Loop. Among the attendees were Texas State Representative Ryan Guillen, bank executives, and Deacon RC Salinas, showing community support for the bank.

The celebration was highlighted with various activities, including a color presentation by local school JROTC and Scouts BSA Troop 93 Rio Grande City’s pledge to the flags. The bank’s officers, Jamie Brown-Rosas and Alex Meade gave welcoming speeches praising local authorities for their support.

Community members such as Dr. Antonio Falcon, Dr. Adalberto Garza, and Sam Vale were recognized for their help in establishing the new bank branch. Texas Regional Bank CEO, Michael Scaief, acknowledged the strong community unity and discussed the bank’s growth statewide over the past 13 years.

Rio Grande City Mayor Joel Villarreal praised the bank’s trustworthiness and its fit with the city’s values. He pointed out the city’s strong international trade and low cost of living, 26% below the national average.

Representative Ryan Guillen thanked the community and the bank for their investment in the city.

The new bank, costing around $4 million, was described as an architectural gem by Scaief. This branch promises to significantly impact the financial scene in Rio Grande City. All photos by Roberto Hugo Gonzalez

Within it lies a beacon of our nation’s perseverance and unity – the American flag. This is no ordinary Stars and Stripes. This emblem of liberty and democracy, according to Texas State Representative Ryan Guillen, has previously waved proudly atop the state capitol itself.
And now, it is destined for a new home, a beacon of economic prosperity. It awaits the culmination of the Texas Regional Bank facility’s construction, ready to grace its highest point when the doors swing open for the Texan public. This flag, soaked in Texan sun and history, is set to symbolize a new era of financial growth, the relentless drive of the State of Texas, and the unyielding spirit of our great nation.
Texas Regional Bank today celebrated all its employees, those who are in front of the public. They did it extraordinarily, with a ceremony that included a municipal proclamation read by the mayor of McAllen, Javier Villalobos. Senior executives of the bank were present, supporting this recognition of the frontline team.
